Our Week 8 blogging assignment aligned perfectly with a presentation this week that I was creating for my practicum class. This opportunity allowed me to follow several multimedia principles and use the presentation suggestions that I learned in EDCI 337. Below I will list what multimedia principles I followed and how I used them in my presentation:
- Multimedia Principle: Used words and pictures
- Modality Principle: Used graphic and narration while presenting on many slides
- Redundancy Principle: Each slide shares new information
- Signaling Principle: Highlighted important points
- Coherence Principle: Only used minimal amounts of material on each slide
- Segmenting Principle: Segmented my presentation so it was easier for the viewer to follow
- Personalization Principle: I used a conversational style rather than a formal style of talking during my presentation
Some presentation suggestions I took from David JP Phillips Ted Talk are:
- Telling a story during the presentation; I tried to tell a story in my image of the two students by the chalkboard
- Not having more than six objects on each slide
- ensures that the most prominent feature on my slides is the most important
- my slides were created in a way that was easy to follow for the viewer
I hope you enjoy my presentation posted below!
